Society thinks that the norm is to be in love, get married and have children. Anyone who ‘deviates’ from this norm is considered a ‘divient’ of society. I honestly don’t think that’s fair to the people who had love, experience it from every angle and decided that it just wasn’t for them. We now stick up like sore thumbs and every time you turn around there is a new love song, or book, or movie being released about love. Most of these stories have happy endings and make it look like a walk in the park. But, I think we all know, it is not a walk in the park 100 perfect of the time.
If I’m a deviant from society because I want to raise my children alone, make my own decision and take care of myself, then that’s fine. Why? Because I’m happy. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, happy. If love does come along one day, I’m not going to shut my door to it. I’ll welcome it slowly, but I’m certainly not going to hold my breath and sitting around hoping for this thing called love.
